Tackling the skills challenge - one of today's toughest business problems

Companies around the world today face a growing challenge to bridge the gap between the skills of their workforce and the skills they will need in the future. To close this gap, they need to streamline the way they recruit and hire new talent in today's competitive marketplace, as well as offer learning and development programs to help employees grow.

Today, these features require a lot of manual, repetitive work and often miss their targets. Companies are reinventing the wheel every time they create a new job, updating requirements based on the rapidly changing skills landscape, ensuring job descriptions are competitive in the marketplace, and developing interview questions to uncover each candidate's potential.

Another concern is to bridge the gap between each employee's individual career aspirations and the cross-skills and development opportunities offered by the organization. With today's announcement, Microsoft and SAP will work together to enable SAP customers to take advantage of the power of Generative AI to attract the most qualified candidates for key roles and generate personalized insights to engage them when they are hired table.

Optimization of recruitment and employee training

Through this collaboration and SAP's use of the Azure OpenAI Service API, SAP and Microsoft will work together on new experiences that streamline the recruiting and employee development processes, including:

  • Recruitment:SAP will leverage the Azure OpenAI Service API and data from SAP SuccessFactors solutions to create compelling and highly targeted job descriptions. Through an integration between the SAP SuccessFactors recruitment solution and Microsoft 365, hiring managers can refine job descriptions with additional content and bias detection checks using Copilot in Microsoft Word. The final job descriptions are then published to SAP SuccessFactors solutions to complete the workflow without HR managers having to leave their normal workflow. SAP will also leverage the Azure OpenAI Service API to notify interviewers in Microsoft Teams with suggested questions based on a candidate's resume, job description, and similar roles.
  • Learn:Through integration between SAP SuccessFactors solutions and Microsoft Viva Learning, employees can use Copilot in Viva Learning to perform natural language queries and create personalized learning recommendations based on data and learning courses in SAP SuccessFactors solutions that target the employee's career and development goals. coordinated. Once learning is complete, the SAP SuccessFactors portfolio is automatically updated, giving organizations an up-to-date view of the skills landscape in their organization. This enhancement builds on an already robust integration with content, tasks, permissions, and SSO sync available now, and an automated admin setup experience available to customers later this year.

A rich data base for effective artificial intelligence

Given SAP's global footprint, the company's enormous data footprint offers the potential to significantly improve the capabilities of large-language models in many industries. As such, today's announcement is also a model for how AI tools can help improve the performance of data and systems in any domain.

Responsible use of AI

SAP AI adheres to the highest industry standards for responsible AI. It is transparent so companies can understand how they draw conclusions and make recommendations. It respects the privacy of sensitive data and helps avoid bias. As one of the first companies to define guiding principles for the use of AI in their software, SAP, as part of its AI Ethics Advisory Board, is working with leading ethics experts to examine the impact of using AI in the enterprise.
